Evie is a fibre artist from London, whose work utilises weaving, knitting, needle felting, crochet, embroidery and sewing. Evie was taught many of these skills as a young child by her grandmother and celebrates how these practices link us to previous generations, as these hand skills have ancient origins. Evie looks to discover new ways to bring textile and fibre arts together while exploring what these mean to an area of the arts which is often overlooked and sidelined as it is seen as stereotypically a pursuit of those who identify as female and/or queer.
In her artworks, Evie explores traditional fine art techniques, taking inspiration from a variety of mediums and developing ways to incorporate these applications into fibre arts.
Evie has worked extensively in the arts, and has experience making pieces for theatre, immersive theatre, art galleries, events, clothing brands, television, fashion and cabaret.
Some of the companies that Evie has created pieces for include Sky Sports, Zara Kids, Kew Gardens, Aardman, The Crystal Maze Live Experience, Tomb Raider Live Experience and Nkuku.
